Museum Hop offers curated museum adventures for children, adults, and families that spark curiosity, illuminate perspectives, and cultivate connections. Programs are customized to fit participant’s personal interests and include opportunities for group discovery, quiet reflection, and creative collaboration.Ashley Weinard, program director, is an educator and museum professional who has worked in museums across the country. MUSEUM HOPPERS HIT THE TRIANGLE
June 22-26, 9:00-3:30
Rising grades 4-8
$400Perfect for new or returning Museum Hoppers. Learn about collection types, museum practices, and careers in the museum world. Work together to mount an exhibition and host an opening for families on the last day of the program. Museum visits may include: North Carolina Museum of Art, North Carolina Natural History Museum, Nasher Museum of Art, Sarah B. Duke Gardens, UNC Basketball Museum, Museum of Life and Science, and more.

$400What's the deal with public art? Museum Hoppers will investigate this question by examining examples of public art and interviewing locals and art professionals from the Triangle area. If that were not enough, they will work together to create a work of public art for display in Durham.

$400Museum Hoppers collaborate in person with museum professionals from the Triangle and on video with others from museums across the country to solve real-world museum problems. A range of museum visits and behind-the-scenes tours included. A great story for the ol' college essay!

$50/coupleJoin us for a third Friday outing to downtown Durham. We'll start the evening at the 21c Museum Hotel with a cocktail and collection tour. Then hop over to the Museum of Durham History and end the night with some gallery visits.
